Dr. Terry L. Spilken

Dr Terry L. Spilken earned his doctorate in podiatric medicine in 1979 at the New York College of Podiatric Medicine.  He did his residency training at Kingsbrook Jewish Medical Center and Community Hospital.  Within a decade, he was back at the College as a member of the adjunct faculty, climbing the podiatric stairway to the position of Dean of Graduate Medical Education and then Dean of Student Services.  He has obtained the rank of Associate Professor in the Division of Medical Science.

Over the years, Dr Spilken has been a podiatric consultant to such widely diverse groups as the Alvin Ailey American Dance Theatre, the Clinique Cosmetic Company, Stiefel Pharmaceuticals, Walking World Magazine, and the New York Islanders hockey team.  Dr. Spilken was the podiatric consultant for more than 15 professional dance companies.

He has been a contributor, consultant, editor, and/or author/co-author of books, magazines, and handbooks.  Dr. Spilken is the author of two books, “The Dancer’s Foot Book” and “Paddings and Strappings of the Foot”.  He is also the editor of “Podiatry Board Certification Review Notes” and “Podiatry Practice Examination and Study Guide” from 2001 until 2006.  His most recent edited book is entitled “Podiatric Pearls II- Helpful Hints for the Podiatrist” which follows the publication of the first edition, “Podiatric Pearls I”.  He has appeared on many radio and television shows discussing podiatry and has been quoted in numerous magazines and journals.  He has lectured internationally on such topics as sports medicine and dance medicine. 

Dr Spilken operates a private practice in Livingston and Edison, New Jersey.  He has been appointed to a variety of additional positions at the New York College of Podiatric Medicine, including Chairperson of the Credentials Committee; and a member of the Curriculum Committee, Admissions Committee and the Strategic Planning Committee.

Today, he has hospital privileges at the Lincoln Medical and Mental Health Center in Bronx, New York, where he was Chairman of the Department of Podiatry as well as an attending to the hospital’s Department of Surgery/Podiatry.  He also has privileges at Saint Barnabas Medical Center in Livingston, New Jersey

Dr. Kelly Oliveros

Dr. Kelly Oliveros attended the New York College of Podiatric Medicine, where she graduated Cum Laudeand ranked at the top of her class.  She completed a three-year foot and ankle surgical residency at Saint Barnabas Medical Center in Livingston, New Jersey, where she served as Chief Resident during her last year.   She is trained extensively in the latest techniques in foot and ankle surgery.  Dr. Oliveros performs surgery for all common foot and ankle ailments, as well as, performs complex corrective foot surgery.  Her training has also helped her apply innovative technology in diabetic foot care with an emphasis on wound care and limb salvage.

Currently, she is a member of the American Podiatric Medical Association and the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons.  She is on staff and performs her surgeries at Saint Barnabas Medical Center and the Ambulatory Care Center in Livingston, New Jersey.  She is pleased to be able to take care of patients in the Livingston area, where she practices.
